Sea Trout (speckled)

Caught in SouthWest Brook, Fortune Bay Newfoundland.

My Uncle caught these off his floating dock in this magical little corner of the world. I went for for a weekend with him and we did pretty well but he thinks it was still a bit early. It’s probably perfect for them down there now.

I saw one I would guess to be about 3 pounds that weekend, unfortunately I didn’t get em. Maybe next time haha, tight lines my friends!

These were caught on a plain hook and earth worm. The best bait you can use for these are small “sand shrimp” that you can find in calm estuary waters around the south coast of Newfoundland.
