Hello I have a few questions as a newcomer to ultralight fishing. I'll probably end up getting 2 setups. I'd prefer 2 piece rods for both.
I'd like a longer rod for general bank/ boat fishing in ponds and lakes. I'm trying to spend less than $250 for the first combo. I'm planning to go 7 foot for the longer rod. I've been looking at the dobyns Sierra trout pan fish or the the diawa presso. Both I've been looking at are fast action. Is there other rods I should look into in the under $160 price range? For the 7 foot rod I've been looking at the daiwa exceler lt or the daiwa regal lt. Can anyone tell me if a size 1000 or 2000 would pair better with the 7 foot rod?
For the other setup I'm looking to go a little cheaper as I don't often fish in streams and small rivers(around $100). I've been looking at the okuma celilo 5 foot moderate action. Are there other options I should consider in the $50 price range? I would pair it with a diawa regal lt or the Shimano sienna. Would a 500 or 1000 pair better with the 5 foot rod?
Both rods I will mostly be using micro jigs and small inline spinners targeting bluegill and trout. Any advice or recommendations is appreciated. Thank you.
