Don't laugh ok!!! I'm really struggling to figure out how to safely store keeper trout while wading and catching other fish. I want to be mobile, so a standalone cooler isn't really ideal. I have a shoulder one I was considering throwing ice in, but I'm concerned that will get in the way.
Bonus questions, wherever I store them, do I first just send them to trout heaven, then gut them? Or just leave them whole and gut them all as an unhappy family?
EDIT: Thanks for all the responses! I’ve seen people use creels, but always assumed they store fish unsafely. Didn’t know the ol grass/moss in the bottom and keep it wet trick! I also saw somewhere saying to put a couple freezer packs in there too. I think that’ll be my method.
