East vs West Trout Fishing: What makes the trout out west so much bigger?

As I get more into trout fishing and watch more trout fishing related content, I notice that on average trout out west are so much bigger. I see videos upon videos of guys fishing in streams that are no more than 3 feet wide, but catching rainbows and browns 24+ inches long. But here in Tennessee where a lot of our major mountain rivers and creeks are more than 3 feet long, the fish still don't get anywhere near as big. I mean we have some rivers that can really produce some giants but overall most just don't. You'd be lucky to catch one above 15 inches in most areas. What makes the fishing out west so much better?
