The other day I tried night fishing for trout for the first time. I was swinging a mouse pattern, and got blown up on, pretty aggressively. Definitely a decent fish, but no weight came on the line at all. Did it just swipe at it with the tail or something? Any tips to help with this?
Second, about 20 mins later I heard what sounded like a 300 pound man do a cannonball into the river about 20 feet from me. It scared the hell out of me lol. Could that have been a state record fish, or more likely a different animal like a beaver?
Definitely intrigued by the night fishing thing and want to try more. I did end up catching two fish, but only 12 Inchers. Not the night time monsters you hear about.
