Hello all,
I am going fishing for trout in a small reservoir in the mountains near me. It has brook, tiger, brown, and rainbows. Between a move I lost my old pflueger president rod/reel combo so I think I’m going to go ahead and buy the new model but I’m wondering what size rod I should get for the type of fishing I’m going to be doing.
I’m leaning towards the 5’6” “light” rod as I think that will be best all around size for the small/medium sized trout I’m likely to run into at my fishing spots but just wanted to see if anyone has any advice as to whether or not I should go with something lighter (ultralight) or move up to a 6’ medium weight pole.
I mostly fish with your standard kastmasters and panther martins. 1/8 or 1/4 oz usually. Thanks in advance.
